Troglodyte dwelling in Libya

These people live underground in one of the hottest areas in the world, in Libya. The winds funnel strangely through this mountain pass and this area gets the brunt of scorching heat, so the inhabitants retreat to caves to stay cool. Only a few miles away it's at least 20 degrees cooler.
