One of the most brilliant nano-technologists in the world, this researcher's portrait wouldn't have been nearly as effective in a static, head-forward shot. We only had 20 minutes to get the shot, so I asked her to explain what she was working on, and as she relaxed to her topic she displayed the passion that's driven her to the top. What isn't seen here is the conference table she is standing on.
